Four Weeks To Go!

I cannot believe that I am just four weeks away from going to Scotland! I'll be there for 2.5 weeks, and it will officially be the longest vacation I have ever taken. It will also be the first solo trip I have ever gone on (unless you count weekends at a cabin out of town for mini writing retreats!)

So basically this is how it is all going to break down:

1.  I fly into Aberdeen and spend the night there.
2. I tour around Aberdeen the following morning and afternoon
3. I hop on a boat that evening and take an overnight ride on Northlink Ferries to Lerwick on the Shetland Islands
4. I spend two weeks galavanting around the mainland of Shetland, and perhaps venturing off to other smaller islands
5. I head back over to Aberdeen and take a train to Edinburgh
6. Spend two nights in Edinburgh to site-see
7. Head back home!

It's going to be an intense and amazing trip. I'm excited, nervous, overjoyed, and a weensy bit terrified. I am not known for my navigation skills.  

Just today I was looking up information trying to figure out the bus system in Edinburgh. Buses make my head hurt here in the States...so I imagine it is going to be extra confusing over there! Thank god for Youtube though...they have a video for everything:

I'll be writing a little bit more on here now in the coming weeks with more planning information. Just need to get back in the swing of writing on here! 

Four weeks from right now I will be on a plane to Europe. Totally insane!!
